A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW HOME

We have always dreamed of having a theatre to call our own. When CapitaLand approached us more than three years ago to explore the possibility of building a performing arts complex together, that dream crystallised into an irresistible prospect.

But no amount of research and planning prepared us for the enormity and complexity of the task at hand: to design, build, programme and fund-raise for a space that is managed and led by artists. Along the way, we collaborated with many partners and benefitted from the generosity of many patrons and donors. We are deeply grateful.

For our Grand Opening Season, we come back full circle to the first play we ever staged, Stella Kon’s classic Emily of Emerald Hill. Like all great art, it yields new revelations every time we revisit it — you’d be surprised by how many secrets Emily Gan can keep up her elaborately embroidered sleeves!

This is followed by Merdeka / 獨立 / சுதநததிரம், written by Alfian Sa’at and Neo Hai Bin, a thought-provoking riposte to the ongoing Singapore Bicentennial celebrations. Then, in true WILD RICE fashion, we end the year with an original, musical take on a beloved classic: Peter Pan in Serangoon Gardens, starring Pam Oei in the title role and Siti Khalijah Zainal as the hook-handed nemesis. Read more about these productions in the following pages, and book your tickets for these shows today!

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your belief and support. Mi casa su casa, as they say. We look forward to welcoming you HOME.
