Wild Rice is Looking for a Production Manager to Join Our Company – Come Make Theatre Magic With Us!

In line with our mission to create the best of Singapore theatre, Wild Rice is expanding our production team. We are looking for a PRODUCTION MANAGER to support our work at our home in Funan.

Our Production Manager is responsible for the scheduling, budgeting, contracting and execution of all design and production-related aspects of Wild Rice’s Season. They will lead a team of production staff to oversee our day-to-day production operations and requirements, ensuring that every production comes in on time and on budget.

Prospective candidates should ideally possess:

  • The ability to manage shifting and competing priorities, exercise good judgement and discretion, and maintain a positive attitude in stressful environments.Knowledge of common industry-specific software, including programmes such as CAD, Auto-CAD, Vector Works and QLab; as well as experience in reading/understanding ground plans, lighting plots and other theatrical specifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, technical theatre operations and arts management.
  • A degree or diploma, preferably in Technical Theatre or Arts Management.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as a member of a production team, particularly in a supervisory or management position.
  • Experience in managing production personnel.
  • Experience in creating, monitoring and adhering to budgets.
  • Experience in overseeing production calendars and schedules.
  • The ability to read a script and determine/assess practical requirements regarding staffing, budgeting and design execution.
  • Good computer, inter-personal/communication, verbal and written skills, as well as a capacity for analytical thinking.
  • A passionate commitment to the art and craft of theatre, as well as the performing arts community, in Singapore.
