Accessibility

A Theatre for Everyone

Wild Rice @ Funan has been designed and built to be accessible to patrons who might otherwise encounter difficulties in experiencing and enjoying live performances. In addition, we offer a comprehensive programme of assisted performances for patrons with different needs.

Facilities

Accessible Mall

For patrons with limited mobility who are coming by car, we suggest parking in Accessible lots nearest to Lift Lobby B, where you can take a lift directly to our theatre. An Accessible restroom is also conveniently located near Lift Lobby B once you reach Level 4, which is where our foyer is located. Do inform our staff members of any specific requirements and we will do our best to assist you.

Accessible Seating

Patrons with limited mobility or limited vision should contact SISTIC at 6348-5555 (Mon to Sat: 10am to 6pm; Sun & PH: 12pm to 6pm) to ask for designated accessible seating.

ACCESS PERFORMANCES

Signed Performances

A trained interpreter placed in a visible position signs all auditory elements of the show using Singapore Sign Language (SgSL).

Captioned Performances

An electronic text display placed near the stage will provide real-time description of what the actors are saying or singing, as well as the sound effects and music used on stage. Special seating that will provide the best view of the captions has been reserved for patrons who need it.

Audio-Described Performances/Touch Tours

We offer audio description by trained Audio Describers, who will provide verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production.

To complement the audio description, touch tours are also available. This gives patrons the opportunity to get up close and personal with the costumes, sets and props that bring our shows to life.

Relaxed Performances

A Relaxed Performance is an inclusive theatrical experience designed for individuals with neuro-diverse needs. These performances are less formal and more supportive of sensory, communication, movement and learning needs. The full version of the production will be presented with minor modifications, like reduced sound levels and house lights remaining on but lowered throughout.

No one will be asked to leave during a Relaxed Performance for making sounds and movements related to differing cognitive/developmental abilities, and a break area will be designated for anyone who would like to step out at any time. As such, a Relaxed Performance is also suitable for young children, as accompanying adults can bring them in and out of the theatre whenever the need arises.

Materials will also be provided to help attendees prepare for the experience, including detailed directions as well as plot and character descriptions.
