Audition Notice: FIRST STAGE!

Calling tomorrow’s theatre talents today! First Stage auditions are on 14 & 15 March for our traditional year-end pantomime!

WILD RICE’s traditional year-end pantomime has become a much sought-after training platform for young talents. This year, for our 2020 holiday season, we are staging Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.

Successful auditionees will join WILD RICE’s respected and admired FIRST STAGE! programme, which trains and nurtures participants throughout their first performing experiences on the professional stage. Since its inception in 2003, more than 150 children have benefited from FIRST STAGE!, performing alongside Singapore’s finest performers for an audience of more than 200,000 people.

We are looking for children from the ages of 5 to 12. Interested candidates must be able to commit to the following dates:

Workshop: 7 – 11 September 2020 (10am – 6pm)

9 October (7-10pm), 10 & 11 October (10am-6pm)
16 October (7-10pm), 17 & 18 October (10am-6pm)
23 October (7-10pm), 24 & 25 October (10am-6pm)
30 October (7-10pm), 31 & 1 November (10am-6pm)
3 – 6 November (4-10pm), 7 & 8 November (10am-6pm)
10 – 13 November (4-10pm)

Album Recording: 13 – 18 October 2020 (4pm – 9pm)

Tech and Dress Rehearsals: 14 – 20 November 2020 (11am – 11pm)

Cast B Rehearsal on stage: 2 – 4 December (12pm – 5pm), 8 December (12pm – 5pm)          

Show Dates: 20 November – 26 December 2020

 (Tuesday – Saturday, 7.30pm; Saturday and Sunday, 2.30pm. Possibly Sunday at 7.30pm)

 (ALL Mondays No Shows, 24 & 25 December No Shows)

Please note that there will be TWO casts of children (aged 5 to 12) for this production.

Cast A will perform from 20 November to 6 December.

Cast B will perform from 8 to 26 December.

If your child is able to commit to the above schedule, you may apply to audition on the following days:

  • 14 March, Saturday (1pm to 8pm)
  • 15 March, Sunday (3pm to 8pm)

Auditionees are required to prepare a one-minute performance, including one verse and one chorus of a song.
