A very Earnest trip to Macau

Tonight, we are incredibly honoured to be bringing our ground-breaking, all-male production of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest to the 25th Macau Arts Festival. We can’t wait for the curtain to rise again, in a different city, on Algernon, Jack, Gwendolyn, Cecily and Lady Bracknell.

Come take an inside peek at what goes into taking a show on the road!

Two weeks before take-off, our wonderful cast – including Daniel York, Brendon Fernandez, Ivan Heng, Gavin Yap, Chua Enlai, Hossan Leong, Lim Kay Siu and Crispian Chan – reunited at our Little India headquarters for rehearsals.

Crispian & Ivan are really happy to see you!
Chua Enlai and Gavin Yap – with director Glen Goei looking on – are the very best of friends!
The TED Quartet provide the music for an enchanting soiree – the musicians are sounding so great that Glen has added another piece of music to the show!
While the cast was rehearsing, our production team flew out to Macau lto lay the technical groundwork for the show. Here you can see the gorgeous art deco set – designed by Ivan – as it’s being bumped into the theatre.
Which, by the way, is the exquisite Dom Pedro V Theatre – the oldest Western-style theatre in China, constructed in 1860.
Macau, here we come!

For the benefit of local audiences, the play will be accompanied by Cantonese, Portuguese and English surtitles.
