Mad Forest

A Young & Wild Production
12 – 16 Dec 2007

The Republic Cultural Centre Lab, Singapore

MAD FOREST explores the blood and dreams that fed the 1989 Romanian revolution, which in turn led to the overthrow, trial and execution of the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. This darkly comic play exposes the heart of a people struggling for political change; tracing a nation’s tumultuous journey from repression to liberation – and beyond.

Delving deep into the lives of two families – one rich, one poor – caught in the whirlwind of a changing Romania, MAD FOREST asks audience a daring question: how much is your country’s freedom worth?

MAD FOREST was part of Republic Polytechnic’s Community Arts Festival Reflections 2007.
