Wild Rice is casting for our upcoming production of The Little Red Riding Hood, a new Singaporean adaptation of the classic fairytale by the Brothers Grimm.

This show will be produced as part of A Little Wild, Wild Rice’s new Theatre for Young Audiences division. The show will be written and directed by Thomas Lim. We are looking for an ensemble of actors to perform in the show, which is designed especially for audiences aged 5 and up.

As there are elements of song and music in the show, we are looking for actors who can sing. Experience in performing for young audiences is preferred, but not essential.

Please note that this audition call is open to actors aged 18 and above only. Interested candidates must be able to commit to the following dates:

3 February – 4 March 2025

27 February – 5 March 2025

6 March – 16 March 2025

All interested candidates should first submit:

1. The following videos:

  • A video of you presenting a contemporary monologue from a Singaporean text of no longer than 2 minutes presented in a Singaporean accent.
  • A one minute video of you dancing to a pop song.
  • A one minute video of you singing a verse and chorus of a song with dramatic range.

2. Performance résumé (in PDF format)
3. Headshot (taken within the last 6 months)
4. Full body shot (taken within the last 6 months)

Candidates will then be shortlisted for in-person auditions. If you have been shortlisted for an in-person audition, Wild Rice will contact you by 7 June 2024 (Friday).

Auditions will be held on 18 – 20 June 2024 (Tuesday to Thursday), 6:30pm – 8:30pm.
