Wild Rice’s renowned First Stage programme is the only one of its kind in Singapore. Successful auditionees will get the opportunity to learn, grow and gain invaluable performing experience as they work on a homegrown theatre production alongside some of the best theatre-makers in the country.
We are looking for 16 children from the ages of 5 to 12 who can act, sing and dance. Interested candidates must be able to commit to the following dates this year:
WORKSHOP:
8 – 12 September (10am – 6pm)
REHEARSALS:
3 October (7 – 10pm), 4 October (10am – 6pm),
10 October (7 – 10pm), 11 October (10am – 6pm),
17 October (7 – 10pm), 18 October (10am – 6pm),
24 October (7 – 10pm), 25 October (10am – 6pm),
27 October – 31 October (2pm – 10pm),
1 November (10am – 6pm),
3 – 8 November (2pm – 10pm)
CAST ALBUM RECORDING:
16 – 22 October (2pm – 10pm)
TECH AND DRESS REHEARSALS:
10 – 13 November (11am – 11pm)
SHOW:
13 November – 21 December
Tuesday – Friday, 7.30pm
Saturday, 2:30pm & 7:30pm
Sunday, 2:30pm (TBC: 7:30pm)

Auditions will be held on 30 March and 6 April, Sunday, from 10am to 6pm.
All interested candidates should first submit:
1. The following videos:
- A one-minute video of you singing a song of your choice accompanied by a minus-one or simple piano backing track. Please do not submit a cappella videos.
- A video of yourself performing the dance routine linked here.
2. Performance résumé (in PDF format)
3. Headshot (taken within the last 6 months)
4. Full body shot (taken within the last 6 months)
Do state your height in metres for our reference.
Please e-mail your submission to production@wildrice.com.sg. Your email should contain a Google Drive link to a folder containing all the required elements of your submission. Your email subject should read ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes First Stage Audition (Your Name)’.
Applications must be submitted by 13 March 2025 (Thursday), 6pm. Any applications submitted past the deadline will not be accepted. Please do not call to apply.
Candidates will then be shortlisted for in-person auditions on 30 March or 6 April, Sunday (10am – 6pm).
If your child has been shortlisted for an in-person audition, Wild Rice will contact you by 20 March 2025.
