This production will be reimagined for the Wild Rice stage by Ivan Heng. As part of our cast, our First Stage Kids will get the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best theatre-makers in the country on a homegrown theatre production.
We are looking for 12 children from the ages of 6 to 12 who can sing and dance. Interested candidates must be able to commit to the following dates:

Please note that there will be TWO casts of children (aged 6 to 12) for this production. Cast A will perform from 12 November to 6 December, and Cast B from 8 to 27 December.

Auditions will be held on 12, 19 and 26 April, Sunday (7pm – 10pm).
All interested candidates should first submit:
1. The following videos:
- A one-minute video of you singing a song of your choice accompanied by a minus-one or simple piano backing track. Please do not submit a cappella videos.
- A video of yourself performing the dance routine linked here.
2. Performance résumé (in PDF format)
- Please state your height in metres for our reference
3. Headshot (taken within the last 6 months)
4. Full body shot (taken within the last 6 months)
Please e-mail your submission to production@wildrice.com.sg. Your email should contain a Google Drive link to a folder containing all the required elements of your submission. Your email subject should read ‘Monkey Goes West First Stage Audition (Your Name)’.
Applications must be submitted by 2 March 2025 (Monday), 12pm. Any applications submitted past the deadline will not be accepted. Please do not call to apply.
Candidates will then be shortlisted for in-person auditions on 12, 19 or 26 April, Sunday (7pm – 10pm).
If your child has been shortlisted for an in-person audition, Wild Rice will contact you by 27 March 2026 (Friday).
