Happy new year!

Dear friends and W!LD RICE Angels,

Chinese New Year is here, but even pineapple tarts, lo hei and ang pow will not distract us from our work! (Okay lah, sometimes they do. We can resist everything except temptation!) In order to welcome you to The Horse... sorry, The House Of Bernarda Alba, we've been engaged in a tireless whirlwind of activity since the beginning of the year. We've just had our first electrifying read with our entire cast, and rehearsals are now well underway. I've been busy designing costumes, and we've shot a trailer with our incredible cast (here's a quick teaser!). We can't wait for you to see what we have in store for the members of the Alba household!

In this issue, we chat with our esteemed director, Glen Goei, about working with a cast comprising Singapore's very finest actresses (not forgetting Jo Kukathas from Malaysia). I share a few insights I've picked up over the years when it comes to women's fashion (underwear is everything, darlings!). W!LD RICE will also be rebooting our youth training division - find out more about young & W!LD, the new incarnation and the old, here. Finally, we catch up with Santa Claus: our wonderful Angel, Hugh Sutherland, discusses the evolution of Singapore's theatre scene with us.

Gong Xi Fa Cai and may the Year of the Horse be one that is filled with laughter, good health, inspiration and many amazing adventures!

On behalf of the W!LD RICE team,

Hot Off The Press!
