Singapore Youth Theatre
This new initative is a year-long holistic theatre-making programme for young people and students from the ages of 13 to 17. It will provide a platform for young people to make and present theatre that speaks to and for people of their own generation. Guided by experienced playwrights, directors and designers, participants will gain first-hand experience of how theatre is made – from writing and directing to performing, designing and stage-managing.

About the Programme Director for Singapore Youth Theatre
Thomas Lim made his professional debut as a playwright and director in Grandmother Tongue, which was performed in Teochew, English and Mandarin. His sophomore work, Supervision, won Best Original Script at the 2019 Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards. He has worked as a drama educator in secondary schools and junior colleges across Singapore, and is currently Associate Artistic Director (Youth & Education) at WILD RICE.
Young & Wild
Young & Wild is dedicated to the training and nurturing of future generations of actors in Singapore. Under the leadership of award-winning theatre-maker/educator/performer Edith Podesta, this year-long, comprehensive acting programme aims to prepare promising young talents for careers in the creative industry. Working alongside local and international career professionals, Young & Wild offers participants the unique opportunity to see how a professional theatre company creates work, connects with an audience and engages with the community.

About the Programme Director for Young & Wild
Edith Podesta is a theatre-maker, choreographer and actor. She studied Acting and Movement Studies at the National Institute of Dramatic Art’s (NIDA), and holds a Master of Arts Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts.
In 2017, she was awarded Best Original Script and Production of the Year for her production BITCH: The Origin of the Female Species, commissioned by the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, and recently her production of Leda and The Rage, commissioned and produced by The Esplanade, was awarded Production of the Year at this year’s Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards.
Edith is currently Associate Artistic Director of Young & Wild. For eight years she held the position of Programme Leader of the BA (Hons) Acting course at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. She has also served on the Board of Australian Theatre of the Deaf, The Singapore National Arts Council AEP Assessment Dance Panel, and the Syllabus Development Committee for O-level Drama for the Singapore Ministry of Education.
