Meet the cast of W!LD RICE’s annual holiday musical! Broadway Beng Sebastian Tan returns to the pantomime stage as the miserly S.K. Loo… But who else will be joining him? Find out here!
SEBASTIAN TAN as S.K. Loo
Best known for being Singapore’s favourite Broadway-singing, Hokkien- spewing Broadway Beng®, Sebastian Tan has been a Dream Academy® Artist since 2006. In 2016, Sebastian celebrated the 10th anniversary of his well-loved and critically-acclaimed stand-up musical comedy series Broadway Beng® with sold-out concerts at Capitol Theatre. His theatre credits include Forbidden City, The LKY Musical, the Crazy Christmas® series, Titoudao, Into The Woods, Fried Rice Paradise, Army Daze and the UK tour of Miss Saigon. In 2014, Sebastian made his professional directing debut with W!LD RICE’s pantomime, Monkey Goes West, which earned him a Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards nomination for Best Director. SITI KHALIJAH ZAINAL as Ghost of Christmas Past
Siti made her debut as a full-time theatre actress after she attended The Necessary Stage’s year-long Theatre for Youth Ensemble programme in 2003. Since then, she has worked with a wide range of theatre companies, both locally and internationally, and she considers herself very lucky. She won the Best Actress Award twice at The Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards for her performances in Model Citizens (2010) and Off Centre (2015). She was awarded the Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council in 2014.
FAUZIE LAILY as Crachit
Fauzie first made his mark in Anugerah, emerging as the second runner-up in Suria’s popular singing competition in 2005. Performing at the SG50 National Day Parade remains a career highlight. He recently released his latest single, ‘Tunggu’, off his debut EP. As an effectively bilingual performer, Fauzie hosts and appears regularly on local Malay and English variety shows. After making his acting debut in television drama Teman Anugerahku, Fauzie won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2007 Pesta Perdana Awards. Since then, he has starred in several dramas on Suria and Channel 5, including Tanglin, Singapore’s longest-running drama. He ventured into theatre in 2010, playing Tim Robinson in Toy Factory’s To Kill A Mockingbird.
CANDICE DE ROZARIO as Ghost of Christmas Yet To Be
Most recently seen in Bite Me!’s Diva To The Death, Candice is a diva in her own right. Though classically trained, her long and varied career has focused on plays, musical theatre and shows for children and families. Her preference for heavy music led her to be the vocalist for symphonic metal band Sangriento. Acting credits include Forever Young (Sing’Theatre), Into The Woods, Company (Dream Academy), Fried Rice Paradise (SRT), The Full Monty, Spring Awakening (Pangdemonium), Lao Jiu: The Musical (The Theatre Practice) and Furthest North, Deepest South (Finger Players). Credits with W!LD RICE include Jack and the Bean-Sprout! (twice), The Emperor’s New Clothes and Mad Forest.
DWAYNE LAU as Ali Inwan
Dwayne graduated from NUS’ Theatre Studies Programme (Hons) in 2007. He currently heads the drama department at his church and is the drama coach at St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School. A regular in comedy and children’s theatre, Dwayne has performed with companies like SRT and I Theatre. Credits include The Wizard of Oz, Treasure Island, Charlotte’s Web and Chicken Little. He also played the Record Keeper in SRT’s epic musical, Forbidden City, and performed in W!LD RICE’s Own Time Own Target (2008, 2009), HOTEL and La Cage Aux Folles. A $ingapore Carol is his third pantomime after Cinderel-lah! and Hansel & Gretel. He is elated to be part of this crazy carolling experience!
AUDREY LUO as Ghost of Christmas Present
Audrey is a bilingual theatre practitioner, singer and host who has collaborated with W!LD RICE, Drama Box, ECNAD, I Theatre, The Finger Players, The Necessary Stage, Pangdemonium, Paper Monkey Theatre, TheatreWorks, The Theatre Practice and Toy Factory. In 2012, Audrey won Best Supporting Actress at the Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards for her role in 881 The Musical. TERENCE TAY as Larry Loo
Since he played a boy suffering from chicken pox in All I Want This Christmas in 1993, Terence has known what he wants to do: infect the world, not with chicken pox, but with his passion for acting. His training in SRT’s Young Company helped him nab the role of Max in acclaimed sitcom Living With Lydia, which spanned four seasons and aired in Hong Kong, Canada and the USA. Terence has appeared in Mediacorp shows like Singapore Idol, Code of Law and 为国先锋. Theatre credits include The LKY Musical, Liao Zhai Rocks! and Detention Katong. Following 2009’s Own Time Own Target, Terence is excited to be working once again with W!LD RICE in his first-ever pantomime!
